3. Use the correct homonym to complete a sentence correctly


Writing 

Objectives:

1. Use the Summarizing a Reference Structural Model to create a KWO on the Judicial Branch of government

2. Write a 1-paragraph RD on the Judicial Branch from a KWO

3. Write a polished 3-paragraph FD report on the three branches of government


History 

Objectives: 

1. Know that the USA is a republic where citizens elect government officials.

2. The Constitution established three separate branches of government which provides for checks and balances

3. Know that the Legislative Branch makes laws.

4. Know that the Executive Branch executes or carries out laws.

5. Know that the Judicial Branch interprets laws.

6. Research an American President and present findings to the class.


Science

1. Identify jobs of bees and learn ways communicate with each other

2. Complete insect collection and present to classmates

3. Identify similarities and differences between bees and wasps


Complete your insect collection and bring it to school on Wednesday. You will need to have 10 different insects, all labeled with the Order, name of insect, date, and location.

We are starting a new unit in writing this week: Summarizing a Reference. We will be taking a break from both SOTW and IEW stories
to focus on our system of government in the United States. We will be looking at the three branches of government and using that
information as our source text for our compositions this week.

Writing Objectives:
1. Be introduced to the Unit 4 Summarizing a Reference Structural Model
2. Memorize and correctly use the topic/clincher rule.
3. Create a KWO of several facts
4. Write a 1-paragraph RD on each branch of government
