Math:
Continue doing a 5 min
warm-up with the assigned Math fact sheet. If your child has mastered the
current fact sheet, move on the next one.
Do 5 min of Mental Math daily working through MM 15 & 16 this week.
Objectives:
1. Assess previously learned material.
2. Add and subtract fractions involving improper fractions.
3. Express objects as a fraction of a set.
4. Find the number of objects in a fraction of a set.
5. Multiply a fraction and a whole number where the product is a whole number.
Composition:
Objectives:
1. Answer questions about a myth and create a story sequence outline
2. Retell the myth using your story sequence outline
3. Review how to write a final clincher and make up a title
Reading:
We complete our reading and discussion of The
Wright Brothers this week. Please bring your book to class both days. Choose a classical book to begin reading next week. You will have three weeks to complete it.
Grammar
Objectives:
1. Identify helping verbs
2. Know that "not" is always an adverb
3. Write an original sentence correctly using a helping verb and 6 parts of speech
Spelling
Objective:
1. Learn the phonogram "ough"
2. Learn how to spell common holidays and words with /uff/ spelled ough

Latin
Objectives:
1. Memorize the vocabulary words and the maxim for Ch9.
2. Memorize the neuter noun endings
3. Know that the Nominative case is used for the subject
4. Know that the Nominative case can also be used for the PrN

Objectives:
1. Know that WW I ended in 1919 with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
2. Understand factors that led to the communist Bolshevik Revolution
3. Know that Vladimir Lenin, the Bolshevik leader, instituted a reign of terror resulting in the government takeover of the Russian economy.
4. Know that Russia became the USSR under Lenin
Science
Objectives:
1. Demonstrate how an inclined plane and screw make work easier
2. Know that heat is a form of energy that flows from one place to another because of differences in temperature
3. Build a simple machine
4. Write a polished final draft of your scientist biography
